Hoo boy - Here we are 15 months after all of this started and now we're starting to look at live music coming back. Of course, it won't look like it did before, no sweating all over each other whilst striving toward the front. No spitting into each others open mouths. Ok, maybe we got some good out of all of it ...
Nonetheless concerts are going to be a thing again. This is good for a lot of people not the least of which are the tech crews that keep everything running and make it all look and sound pretty. If you're not already aware there are a lot of people who work in this field and, while artists were able to stream and sometimes otherwise stay afloat with "live" performances, all our clubs, halls, etc. remained closed. A crew that would run lights for a stage show isn't needed for a person streaming from their closet or home studio.
As places open please remember a couple of things. 1) still be careful - we want you around for the long haul and 2) treat everyone from the person taking your ticket to the bartender to the usher to the lighting crew to the sound crew to the stage managers and everyone in between and beyond with respect.
This hurt and many of our favourite places weren't able to overcome the loss. Hold a place for them as well. There are some in this world who contend that art and entertainment aren't "work" and to them we give a hearty phhhhhht and a punch to the head. Also, just try to imagine what sort of world this would be without it.
Be good to each other. Carry on, my dudes.
Out for now.
